During July 2025, Soongyu focused on backend development for the sparcs-kaist/taxi-back repository, delivering a location-aware room search feature. He refactored the existing room search logic in TypeScript to incorporate latitude and longitude into the PopulatedRoom and FormattedLocation interfaces, ensuring that geo-coordinates are accurately mapped and accessible for search operations. This work improved type safety and data integrity, laying a foundation for future geo-enabled features. By prioritizing feature delivery and maintainability, Soongyu enhanced search accuracy and user experience without addressing major bugs. His efforts centered on refactoring and data modeling, demonstrating depth in backend engineering and TypeScript development.
