During October 2024, Megildei focused on modernizing the IBM/ibm-z-oss-hub repository by upgrading its core front end dependency, jQuery, from version 1.12.4 to 3.7.1. This work involved careful integration of the new library to ensure compatibility with existing JavaScript code and front end workflows. By addressing vulnerabilities present in the older version, Megildei improved the application’s security posture and ensured better cross-browser support. The upgrade was implemented without introducing breaking changes, preserving user-facing functionality while aligning the project with current web standards. This work demonstrated a methodical approach to dependency management using JavaScript and front end development skills.
