Worked on enhancing license compliance tooling for the WordPress/plugin-check repository by implementing EUPL license recognition as GPL-compatible within the plugin’s license validation process. Used PHP and WordPress plugin development skills to update the validation logic, ensuring that EUPL licenses without a specified version are accepted as GPL-compatible, which streamlines checks for plugin authors. Developed and updated unit tests to support version-independent compatibility, reducing maintenance overhead and minimizing false positives. This feature broadened support for developers needing GPL-compatible licenses and improved automation for license checks, ultimately helping mitigate compliance risks and making the plugin-check tool more robust and developer-friendly.
