Merlijn contributed to the home-assistant/brands repository by designing and delivering new iconography for the Unifi Network Map custom integration. Focusing on visual enhancements, Merlijn applied graphic design and UI design skills to create SVG-based icons that align with established branding guidelines. The work involved updating branding assets to ensure consistency across the application’s catalog and downstream UI components, addressing the need for scalable and easily updatable visual assets. Although the scope was limited to a single feature over one month, the implementation improved user recognition and set a foundation for future integrations, demonstrating careful attention to design standards and maintainability.
