Worked on the openshift/installer repository to deliver Bring Your Own (BYO) Security Groups support for AWS Network Load Balancers, focusing on enhancing network security and configurability for users. The implementation involved updating IAM permissions, specifically adding elasticloadbalancing:SetSecurityGroups to master nodes and integrating this change into the UPI CloudFormation template. This allowed customers to specify custom security groups for their AWS Network Load Balancers, improving network isolation and compliance. The work required expertise in AWS, CloudFormation, and IAM, and was implemented using Go and YAML to ensure seamless integration with existing cloud infrastructure management workflows without disrupting deployment processes.
