Developed an observability enhancement for the livekit/agents repository by adding a dedicated User-Agent header to all outgoing requests from the LiveKit Cartesia plugin. This feature, implemented in Python with a focus on backend development and API integration, improved request traceability and streamlined debugging processes. The approach maintained backward compatibility by introducing the header additively, ensuring existing request flows remained unaffected. Leveraging asynchronous programming techniques, the update established a clear telemetry baseline for future troubleshooting and updates. This work addressed the need for better monitoring and support of plugin interactions with LiveKit services, enabling more efficient issue resolution across environments.
