Contributed to the helix-editor/helix repository by developing a cross-platform text processing enhancement focused on CRLF support for character selection. This work addressed inconsistencies in text selection behavior caused by differing line ending conventions across Windows, macOS, and Linux. Using Rust and leveraging regex for robust text processing, the solution improved the accuracy of character selection in CRLF mode and resolved a specific bug affecting this functionality. The implementation was validated across multiple operating systems to ensure consistent behavior, resulting in more reliable text handling and reducing platform-specific edge cases. The work emphasized stability and correctness in editor functionality for end users.
