Worked on improving the state API within the dayshah/ray repository by addressing a type annotation bug that affected the get_actor method. Focused on aligning the return type annotation with the actual ActorState object returned, which enhanced static type-checking accuracy and improved maintainability for downstream components. Utilized Python and applied type hinting techniques to ensure the API’s correctness and reliability. The work included updating documentation and changelogs to clearly communicate the impact of these changes. This targeted bug fix contributed to a more robust API development process, reducing the likelihood of future type-related errors and simplifying ongoing code maintenance.
