In September 2025, Mihai contributed to the airbnb/lottie-ios repository by developing a feature that enables cancellation of in-progress animation loads. Using Swift and leveraging asynchronous programming techniques, Mihai implemented a cancellation path that allows users to interrupt animation loading, which improves app responsiveness and optimizes resource usage. This work focused on animation handling within iOS development, reducing wait times during animation startup and freeing resources tied to canceled tasks. The feature addressed performance bottlenecks in animation-heavy workflows, enhancing both user experience and app stability. Mihai’s contribution demonstrated a focused approach to solving a specific problem with targeted, maintainable code changes.
