In January 2025, Miklos Kancso developed a new AdHoc Filters 'hidden' option for the grafana/scenes repository, enabling filters to be excluded from both the user interface and shared URLs. He implemented this feature using React and TypeScript, focusing on frontend development best practices. Automated tests were added to ensure that hidden filters are neither rendered nor included in the URL, maintaining dashboard usability and improving the shareability of links by reducing clutter. Throughout the process, Miklos preserved backward compatibility and user experience stability, demonstrating a thoughtful approach to feature integration and code quality within a collaborative open-source environment.
