Worked on the haskell/cabal repository to enhance repository governance by implementing strict merge rule enforcement through Mergify configuration updates. Focused on disabling the queue_controls_comment feature, this change ensured that all merges adhered to defined policies, reducing the risk of policy bypass in automated workflows. Leveraged skills in CI/CD, YAML, and policy-driven automation to validate the configuration through continuous integration checks and documented the process for auditability. While no user-facing features or bug fixes were delivered during this period, the work established a more reliable and scalable foundation for merge policy enforcement across the project’s development lifecycle.
