During August 2025, Miller contributed to both the kuzudb/kuzu and tursodatabase/turso repositories, focusing on database durability, analytics, and developer experience. In kuzudb/kuzu, Miller enhanced data integrity by implementing durable WAL synchronization, ensuring the write-ahead log is safely persisted to disk using C++ and system programming techniques. For Turso, Miller added foundational ANALYZE command support, generating VDBE instructions in Rust and updating internal statistics tables to enable future query optimization. Additionally, Miller improved SQL editor usability by extending syntax highlighting for ANALYZE and EXPLAIN keywords, and streamlined performance benchmarking documentation, reflecting a thoughtful approach to both backend and tooling improvements.
