Addressed a critical stability concern by updating the repository.datadog.yaml file using YAML, temporarily halting automated pull request merges to reduce risks associated with automated merging. Focused on configuration management to strengthen governance around the merge process, enabling safer validation of changes before promotion. This approach allowed the team to pause automated workflows without code changes, providing a controlled environment for troubleshooting and validation. The work emphasized reliability and risk mitigation through targeted configuration updates rather than feature development.
