Worked on enhancing the CI/CD pipeline for the Shopify/liquid repository by introducing advanced Ruby runtime options testing. Leveraging GitHub Actions and YAML, the developer expanded the test matrix to include RUBYOPT configurations, enabling automated tests with frozen_string_literal and YJIT for Ruby 3.4 and ruby-head. This approach provided broader test coverage and surfaced performance characteristics across multiple Ruby versions, helping to accelerate feedback and stabilize releases. By standardizing runtime options in the workflow, the changes reduced the risk of runtime surprises and enabled earlier detection of regressions, ultimately improving the maintainability and reliability of the CI process.
