In November 2025, Kdevlab contributed to the nix-community/home-manager repository by developing modular GPU setup configurability for Nix-based Linux systems. Leveraging skills in configuration management, Linux, and the Nix language, Kdevlab exported GPU setupPackage and drivers options from the generic Linux GPU target into the main Nix configuration. This approach enabled users to customize GPU setups more easily, reduced manual configuration, and improved consistency across machines. The work aligned with the project’s modularization goals, enhancing maintainability and scalability for Linux GPU support. The depth of the solution provided a reusable configuration path that simplifies onboarding for future contributors.
