Over two months, contributed to the malloydata/malloy repository by building advanced chart label rendering, a flexible dashboard layout system, and a robust theming architecture for MalloyRenderer. Leveraged TypeScript, React, and Vega to implement a three-tier x-axis label rotation strategy, shared label-scaling utilities, and deterministic tests to improve chart UX and prevent label collisions. Enhanced dashboard flexibility with grid and flex layouts, responsive design, and tag-based controls. Developed an explicit theme configuration surface, refactored theme resolution for maintainability, and ensured consistent, brand-aligned visuals across charts and maps. Strengthened ESM packaging, module exports, and error handling to improve consumer compatibility.
