Worked on the akashverma0786/OpenMetadata repository to enhance Power BI metadata management by introducing a Description field to the PowerBiColumns model. This feature was implemented using Python and focused on data modeling and metadata ingestion, allowing for richer documentation of BI assets. The new field was integrated into the metadata parsing pipeline, improving the completeness and searchability of Power BI dashboard metadata. All changes were closely aligned with governance objectives and tracked through relevant issues, ensuring transparency and traceability. The work contributed to more comprehensive data cataloging, supporting better asset discovery and documentation within the organization’s data governance framework.
