During October 2024, Marco Marco developed Gentoo packaging for the libbraiding 1.3 library in the winterheart/gentoo repository. He created a new ebuild and Manifest, leveraging his skills in build systems and package management to align with Gentoo’s packaging standards. By introducing a maintainable ebuild structure written in Ebuild, Marco enabled seamless installation and updates of libbraiding 1.3 through Gentoo’s package manager. This work reduced manual build steps for users and improved the repository’s overall quality. Although the scope was focused on a single feature, the implementation demonstrated a solid understanding of Gentoo’s distribution and packaging workflows.
