During March 2026, Mihir Bharadwaj focused on enhancing the reliability of the logging subsystem in the ortus-boxlang/BoxLang repository. He addressed a critical concurrency issue by fixing a bug that caused ConcurrentModificationException during application shutdown. Using Java and backend development skills, Mihir implemented safe iteration patterns and explicit stop logic for log appenders, ensuring controlled component termination. This work improved shutdown reliability and reduced the risk of production crashes. Although no new features were released, Mihir’s contribution demonstrated a strong understanding of concurrency handling and lifecycle management, resulting in more maintainable and robust backend infrastructure for the project.
