Worked on the open-traffic-generator/featureprofiles repository to enhance network automation and testing workflows using Go and OpenConfig. Over three months, addressed configuration drift by aligning default interface settings with project documentation, reducing maintenance overhead and improving deployment reliability. Developed Juniper-native CLI support for static MPLS LSP configurations, introducing vendor-specific deviations to expand cross-vendor compatibility and streamline configuration logic. Improved BGP test reliability by implementing fail-fast behavior on non-UP interfaces, preventing cascading configuration errors and accelerating CI feedback. The work focused on maintainability, deterministic test outcomes, and robust protocol configuration, leveraging Go, protobuf, and gNMI for scalable network feature development.
May 2025 – open-traffic-generator/featureprofiles: Reliability hardening for BGP test flow; fixed test behavior to fail fast on non-UP interfaces to prevent cascading BGP config attempts, improving determinism and CI feedback. Key change aligns with RT-1.14 and commit 1a98be815a27d6a7cee9b1fbb27b05df0a8dfb53 (#2902).

February 2025 monthly summary for open-traffic-generator/featureprofiles: Implemented Juniper-native CLI support for static MPLS LSP configurations via a deviation to handle unsupported static LSP configurations on Juniper devices. The deviation activates Juniper native CLI usage in metadata/configuration logic, improving cross-vendor compatibility and ensuring proper static MPLS LSP handling across vendors. The work enhances device interoperability, reduces manual workarounds, and sets the stage for parity across vendors. No major bugs fixed this month; fixes focused on feature delivery and maintainability.
