During April 2025, Michael P. integrated the Openbox window manager into the deCONZ addon within the home-assistant/addons repository, replacing the previous DWM setup. This engineering effort focused on enhancing user experience by providing more stable and flexible window management for the addon’s graphical interface. Michael utilized configuration management and DevOps skills, working primarily with Dockerfile and YAML to ensure seamless deployment and versioning. The update addressed usability concerns and prepared the addon for future UI improvements. While the work was limited to a single feature, it demonstrated a targeted approach to system administration and configuration in a production environment.
