Worked on the elastic/beats repository to enhance the reliability and security of Filebeat’s autodiscover hints, focusing on dynamic Kubernetes secret resolution. Addressed a critical bug by updating the ApplyConfigTemplate function to accept options, including the Kubernetes keystore resolver, which enables runtime resolution of secret variables such as ${kubernetes.namespace.secret.key}. This approach brought Filebeat’s behavior in line with Metricbeat, improving consistency across Beats templates and reducing the need for manual configuration workarounds. The work was implemented using Go and leveraged backend development skills with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes integration, delivering a robust solution for secure, dynamic configuration management.
