Month 2026-02 — rdkcentral/meta-rdk-oss-reference delivered a strategic Vulkan/SPIR-V versioning alignment, enabling lockstep component updates across headers, loader, tools, and validation layers. By moving Vulkan recipes out of the vendor layer and introducing full 1.3.247/1.3.260 recipes, and by mirroring versioning for spirv-headers and spirv-tools, the stack now maintains consistent versions with the Kirkstone 1.3.204 baseline via bbappends. This reduces drift, accelerates release readiness, and simplifies maintenance across the OSS reference stack. Build and test procedures were executed to validate compatibility, with changes focused on reliability and maintainability of the reference recipes (commit RDKEVD-4390).
