During November 2025, Munif Tanjim contributed to the DefinitelyTyped/DefinitelyTyped repository by delivering a cross-package update to the CODEOWNERS configuration. This work involved editing JSON-based ownership files to remove outdated contributors, specifically updating ownership status across multiple packages. By streamlining the code ownership data, Munif improved review accountability and optimized pull request routing, which enhanced overall repository governance and contributor clarity. The project required strong collaboration and project management skills, as changes were coordinated across a large open source codebase. While no bugs were fixed, the update laid the groundwork for more consistent governance and faster approvals within the repository.
