Developed an Outlook .msg to Markdown converter for the Shubhamsaboo/markitdown repository, enabling automated transformation of email files into structured Markdown documents. The solution focused on robust data parsing and file handling in Python, extracting key metadata such as sender, recipients, subject, date, and body to support documentation and downstream processing needs. By establishing a reusable parsing pattern, the work laid the foundation for future support of additional email formats. Unit testing was incorporated to ensure reliability and maintainability. The feature was delivered as a single authoritative commit, providing traceability and clear alignment with the project’s issue tracking process.
