During March 2025, Nef contributed to the Automattic/jetpack repository by developing a donation onboarding modal aimed at guiding first-time donors through Stripe setup. The implementation leveraged React and JavaScript to create a user-friendly experience, while a new user meta field in PHP was introduced to track whether users had seen or dismissed the onboarding warning. Nef also refactored the modal’s link generation to utilize the Jetpack redirect service, ensuring links pointed to site-type specific support documentation. This centralized link management improved maintainability and reduced future drift. The work demonstrated thoughtful frontend development and plugin architecture within the WordPress ecosystem.
