Addressed a critical issue in Axes.grid() by ensuring that alpha transparency in color tuples is properly respected, which improved the visual fidelity of transparent grid lines and tick rendering. Refined the associated test suite by streamlining tests for grid color with alpha, simplifying test flows to boost reliability and ease of maintenance. Additionally, improved code quality by removing trailing whitespace across test files, supporting better linting practices and a cleaner contributor experience. Emphasized software testing and code cleanliness throughout the process.
