This reduces deployment friction, improves security posture, and enables support for mixed workload environments. Work is tracked in hashicorp/consul-dataplane under commit 8dab5c2c7299651fff27e35e5fc2798258ba659b (#652).

February 2025: Delivered PSA-compliant security hardening for Consul components in Kubernetes (hashicorp/consul-k8s).
