Worked on the Automattic/harper repository to enhance reliability and data quality in backend systems using Rust. Focused on improving place-name validation by addressing a bug that incorrectly flagged 'Czech Republic' as outdated, ensuring it is recognized as a valid country name alongside 'Czechia.' Implemented targeted regression tests to prevent similar issues and maintain alignment with official naming conventions. This approach reduced false positives and improved the accuracy of country name detection. Emphasized robust test coverage and validation logic, resulting in more stable data handling and better user-facing outcomes. Demonstrated backend development expertise and attention to data integrity throughout the process.
