Contributed two new device type entries to the netbox-community/devicetype-library, focusing on expanding support for data center hardware. Developed detailed YAML models for the Cisco MDS 9148V 64G Fibre Channel Switch and an enhanced Smartoptics module, specifying manufacturer details, interface configurations, and port layouts to improve automation readiness. Addressed YAML syntax validation to ensure seamless integration and reliable automated discovery within inventory systems. Emphasized data modeling and device configuration best practices, resulting in more accurate hardware representation and streamlined network management. The work demonstrated a methodical approach to extending device support using YAML and networking expertise without introducing new bugs.
