
Contributed to the bioconda/bioconda-recipes repository by developing and packaging two scientific tools over a two-month period. Delivered the pytantan package, implementing Cython bindings for the Tantan tool to enable efficient repeat identification in DNA and protein sequences, and enhanced reproducibility through comprehensive testing and metadata in the conda recipe. Later, created a cross-platform recipe for Annorefine, adding arm64 cross-compilation support for macOS and Linux, and streamlined the build process by leveraging conda-build and maturin. Work involved Python, Rust, and shell scripting, with a focus on improving build reliability, maintainability, and onboarding for researchers and developers.
March 2026: Delivered cross-platform Annorefine recipe v2026.2.22 for bioconda-recipes with arm64 cross-compilation support, enabling reliable macOS/Linux builds and streamlining developer workflow. Updated dependencies and build strategy to improve reliability and maintainability across platforms.

This work lowers onboarding friction for researchers and accelerates adoption of pytantan in user workflows.
