Worked on backend reliability for the louislam/uptime-kuma repository, focusing on monitoring and metrics accuracy. Addressed a critical issue in Prometheus metrics tagging by correcting how monitor tags were retrieved and applied, which previously caused duplicate metric series for a single monitor. This JavaScript-based fix improved the integrity of Prometheus dashboards and alerting by ensuring each monitor produced only one accurate metric series, reducing confusion and noise in monitoring data. The solution was delivered through a pull request with clear traceability, demonstrating skills in API development, backend development, and metrics instrumentation, and emphasizing careful change control and repository-driven workflows.
