Worked on maintaining the reliability of the torchmetrics test suite in the Lightning-AI repository by updating tests to accommodate changes in the jiwer API. Addressed the deprecation of the compute_measures function by transitioning tests to use the newer mer and wer functions, ensuring compatibility with recent jiwer versions. Focused on preserving the original test semantics while reducing the risk of CI failures caused by dependency updates. Demonstrated strong skills in Python and testing, with careful attention to dependency management. This work improved the maintainability and stability of the test suite, supporting ongoing development and efficient continuous integration workflows.
