During August 2025, Novenary enhanced hardware compatibility in the yuwata/systemd repository by adding touchpad resolution support for the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen2a. They identified the device model, created a targeted hardware database (hwdb) entry, and integrated the device ID into the evdev configuration, ensuring the touchpad functions correctly out of the box. This work focused on hardware configuration and required a deep understanding of hwdb and evdev technologies. Novenary’s contribution addressed a specific usability issue, reducing manual setup for users and improving system stability. The project demonstrated thorough end-to-end ownership of the hardware enablement process within systemd.
