Worked on the k3s-io/k3s repository to integrate nix-based image workflows, focusing on improving efficiency, reproducibility, and enterprise readiness for Kubernetes deployments. Developed support for the nix snapshotter within the embedded containerd, enabling the use of images built with nix2container and enhancing deduplication through the nix store. Implemented rootless compatibility and multi-architecture readiness by refining socket handling and disabling NRI in rootless mode. Added an end-to-end integration test in Go and YAML to validate building, pulling, and running nix-based images, ensuring correctness and reliability. The work emphasized DevOps practices and robust integration testing for scalable container orchestration.
