During March 2025, Nxf5025 developed robust RBAC capabilities across the coder/coder and coder/terraform-provider-coder repositories. They implemented Workspace Owner RBAC roles in the provisioner, ensuring roles were fetched, included in job details, and passed as environment variables during provisioning. In the provider, they extended the coder_workspace_owner data source to expose user RBAC roles and organization IDs, updating both tests and documentation. This work, primarily using Go, Protocol Buffers, and Terraform, improved security and governance by enabling explicit RBAC role propagation and visibility across provisioning and data-access layers, demonstrating depth in backend and provider development without introducing bugs.
