Worked on the gradle/gradle and checkstyle/checkstyle repositories, focusing on reliability and maintainability improvements. In gradle/gradle, addressed error reporting in the TestEventReporter by correcting method names, which clarified error-state messaging and reduced triage time in CI pipelines. For checkstyle/checkstyle, refactored code to adopt enhanced switch expressions in Java, reducing boilerplate and improving readability, while also enhancing token-type handling to ensure parsing correctness. Supplemental fixes were implemented to stabilize new features and prevent regressions. The work demonstrated a methodical approach to code refactoring and bug fixing, leveraging Java, Gradle, and software development best practices for robust outcomes.
