Rishabh Saraswat developed a security enhancement for the apache/cassandra repository by updating cassandra-stress to support TLS 1.3 cipher suites. This work focused on improving data-in-transit protection for stress and test workloads by setting TLS 1.3 as the default, reducing configuration drift and aligning with modern security standards. Using Java and leveraging expertise in back end development and security protocols, Rishabh implemented the patch as part of CASSANDRA-21007, collaborating with reviewers to ensure robust integration. The update strengthened the security posture of test workflows, preparing the project for broader TLS 1.3 adoption without introducing new bugs or regressions.
