Developed a new Overkiz Smart Cover service within the mib1185/homeassistant-core repository, enabling users to set both position and tilt for enhanced automation and control. Leveraged Python and backend development skills to design a robust API and implement service-oriented architecture, focusing on maintainability and user experience. Addressed compatibility by updating the aioautomower integration to version 2.7.5 and applying targeted fixes for recent library changes, which improved system stability and reduced maintenance overhead. Demonstrated proficiency in API integration, dependency management, and collaborative development, delivering features and bug fixes that increased the reliability and flexibility of Home Assistant’s smart home platform.
