Alvaro Guzman developed a Connectivity Toolkit for the balena-os/balena-owa5x repository, focusing on enhancing device connectivity through SIM switching and WiFi module configuration. Leveraging his expertise in embedded systems and firmware development, he introduced binary tools and a parameterizable WiFi configurator using Python and network configuration utilities. The toolkit integrates the Owasys Mff2_Select binary to enable seamless SIM and eSIM switching, while exposing WiFi module controls via mlanutl for flexible configuration. This work established a scalable workflow that reduces network setup time and supports rapid, flexible deployments across multi-network environments, demonstrating depth in both system integration and connectivity management.
