During a two-month period, Bythethousands focused on enhancing global accessibility and user experience through localization and translation management across multiple repositories, including osmandapp/OsmAnd, osmandapp/OsmAnd-iOS, WeblateOrg/weblate, and IBM/IM-ios. Leveraging Weblate, they delivered high-coverage Simplified and Traditional Chinese as well as Japanese translations, establishing a traceable, cross-platform workflow for future updates. Their work involved updating PO and XML files, translating UI strings in Swift, and aligning translations with design requirements. Bythethousands addressed internationalization readiness and improved accessibility for Chinese-speaking users, demonstrating depth in localization engineering and ensuring consistency and auditability across Android and iOS platforms.
