Over a two-month period, Bythethousands focused on expanding global accessibility by delivering localization and translation updates across multiple repositories, including osmandapp/OsmAnd, osmandapp/OsmAnd-iOS, WeblateOrg/weblate, and IBM/IM-ios. They implemented end-to-end workflows using Weblate, managing PO and XML files to update Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, and Japanese translations. Their work improved translation coverage and consistency, particularly for UI strings, without requiring functional code changes. Bythethousands enhanced user experience for Chinese-speaking and Japanese users, established traceable commit-based localization processes, and ensured future scalability for multilingual releases, demonstrating depth in internationalization, translation management, and iOS development within cross-platform environments.
