During April 2025, work focused on expanding Velero’s platform support by enabling build and distribution of s390x architecture binaries. This involved updating the GoReleaser configuration and enhancing the Makefile to support cross-compilation and multi-architecture release workflows, specifically targeting IBM Z systems. The changes streamlined the CI/CD process, allowing for automated generation and distribution of s390x binaries alongside existing platforms. By leveraging Go, Makefile, and YAML, the developer improved Velero’s deployment flexibility and reduced barriers for customers operating on IBM Z. No major bugs were addressed during this period, with efforts concentrated on feature delivery and ongoing issue triage.
