Worked on a frontend redesign for the mbta/screens repository, focusing on improving the Subway Status Display to enhance alert and status visualization for users. Utilized React and CSS, along with TypeScript, to update component layouts and refine the user interface. After implementing the new design, conducted validation and determined a rollback was necessary to maintain system stability and preserve the existing bus shelter screens layout. Documented the rationale for reverting the changes, capturing key design learnings to inform future iterations. This approach demonstrated disciplined change management, balancing innovation with risk control, and ensured uninterrupted service for end users during the process.
