Worked on enhancing the Purchase Order export workflow in the DAVSOR64/FMA repository, focusing on improving reliability and reducing manual intervention. Developed an idempotent export process using Python, ensuring that PO export files are transferred to SFTP only once and preventing duplicate or premature exports. Implemented filtering logic to process only those purchase orders with XML files created but not yet synced, and strengthened error handling with retry and alert mechanisms for SFTP operations. Applied backend development skills and knowledge of file transfer protocols, including FTP and SFTP, while also performing essential maintenance updates such as adjustments to .gitignore and version management.
