Worked on the BSC-ES/autosubmit repository to develop and integrate a CPMIPS metrics module for simulation job monitoring. Leveraging Python and backend development skills, implemented threshold-based inefficiency detection and validation against key metrics such as SYPD, CORE_HOURS, and CHSY, improving monitoring accuracy and cost efficiency. Enhanced the job model with new attributes, refactored chunk size handling, and expanded unit and integration testing to ensure reliability. Delivered an automated notification system for CPMIP threshold violations, enabling proactive alerting and faster response to anomalies. The work established a scalable foundation for future efficiency analyses and improved automated submission workflows.
May 2026 monthly summary for BSC-ES/autosubmit: Delivered CPMIP Threshold Violation Notifications and Metrics Integration. Implemented a notification system for CPMIP threshold violations and integrated CPMIP metrics to evaluate performance and trigger alerts in simulation jobs. The changes enable proactive monitoring, reduce time-to-detection for violations, and improve reliability of automated submissions across simulation workloads.
