Worked on the Xilinx/llvm-aie repository to enhance linker script expression parsing, focusing on improving compatibility with GNU ld and increasing build reliability. Developed and integrated support for the unary plus operator within the LLD ELF linker script parser, allowing the parser to correctly interpret and process '+' in linker script expressions. This update broadened the range of supported linker script syntax, addressing a gap in GNU ld-style expression handling. The work involved C++ development and deep knowledge of compiler internals, ELF format, and linker scripting. Comprehensive tests were created and validated to ensure robust behavior and maintain confidence in the new functionality.
