During January 2026, Peng Ren developed MongoDB database engine support for the preset-io/superset repository, enabling users to run SQL queries on MongoDB collections through the PyMongoSQL dialect. This work, aligned with the SIP-195 initiative, expanded Superset’s data-source coverage and allowed analytics workflows to access MongoDB data without requiring export.
