Worked on the oaknational/oak-components repository to deliver two accessibility-focused features using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript. Addressed screen reader behavior by removing wrapping labels from radio buttons and implementing aria-labelledby, ensuring a single, clear source for radio names and reducing duplicate announcements. Enhanced OakListItem accessibility across mobile and iOS VoiceOver by refactoring internal onClick event handling, which improved type safety and mobile interaction consistency. These changes increased the inclusivity and maintainability of the codebase, enabling smoother navigation for assistive technology users and supporting faster, more reliable future iterations through cleaner, more testable front end development patterns.
