During 2025-10, delivered enhanced observability and reliability improvements across two repositories, focusing on proactive issue detection and production visibility. Implemented a Pod OOM Kill alert for controller and manager pods with associated tests, and refined alert criticality and labeling to ensure consistency. Expanded Prometheus monitoring to cover kube_pod_container_status_terminated_reason across additional namespaces, improving debugging and incident response for pod lifecycle events. These efforts increased system reliability, reduced mean time to detect issues, and demonstrated strong skills in Prometheus-based monitoring, Kubernetes observability, and test-driven alerting.

Month: 2025-09 – Infra-deployments observability upgrade delivered to broaden coverage of terminated pod container reasons across additional namespaces, enabling faster troubleshooting and improved reliability. The change aligns with SPRE-1268 and updates the stage monitoring stack endpoints to capture kube_pod_container_status_terminated_reason data across more services.

In May 2025, delivered an observability enhancement for redhat-appstudio/o11y by implementing an OOMKilled Pod Alert with Prometheus rules and tests. This enables operators to be notified when Kubernetes workloads are terminated due to memory pressure, improving reliability and incident response. No major bugs were fixed in this repo this month. The work provides business value by enabling earlier detection of memory pressure, reducing MTTR and potential outages. Technologies demonstrated include Prometheus alerting, Kubernetes workload monitoring, and end-to-end testing; all changes are traceable to commit 6cdae6ad69f224d43823f2959f4fc0a069ee33d9.
