Worked on enhancing the espressif/arduino-esp32 repository by focusing on API stability and connectivity reliability for the ESP32 Arduino core. Addressed a key issue by restoring the Arduino Client API connect methods, introducing a timeout parameter to ensure NetworkClient properly handles connection timeouts. This change reduced connectivity regressions and improved reliability for end-user applications. The work involved in-depth knowledge of embedded systems and network programming, utilizing C++ to implement and test the solution. Over the course of the month, the primary contribution centered on bug fixing rather than feature development, emphasizing robust, maintainable code and careful attention to backward compatibility.
